I just love this picture!! It shows an younger Pope dressed in beautiful w
hite and
gold vestments and mitre during an Eastertide High Mass of the Resurrection, raising his hand as if in blessing and salutation
while firmly holding his iconic silver crucifix croixer
. It measures 4 1/2” x 3 1/2”.
The official seal of the Postular General for the cause of John Paul 2's canonization ensures the relic’s authenticity
, Surrounding the seal are the Latin words EX INDUMENTIS JOANNIS PAULI II, which translates as “from the clothing of John Paul 2.
These 2nd class relic cards were fashioned when Pope John Paul was declared "Blessed" prior to his canonization in 2011.  The monastery outside of Krakow, Poland (where the pope was the Cardinal Archbishop before becoming Pope,) which was responsible for making these relic cards, hasn't made any other 2nd class relic cards since before the canonization in 2011, and are NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
On the back is a terrific prayer to Saint John Paul written one Polish, which translates to:
